Catheter-associated urinary tract infection CAUTI is reported to be the most common HAI worldwide. CAUTI can be prevented with appropriate practice and care by healthcare personnel especially nurses who play the main role in urinary catheter care. Nurses knowledge and attitude are considered to be important factors that influence their practice. Objectives 1 Assess the adherence to the nursing unination procedure 2 Identify factors related to nursing adherence to pratice. Methodology A descriptive cross-sectional study conducted at 6 departments in Duc Giang General Hospital from May 2020 to October 2020 with 65 nurses. Results Among 56 eligible nurses and agreed to participate the percentage of nurses having good practice average age 30 age group 30 years old accounted for college degree seniority from 6-10 years accounted for the proportion. the highest . Conclusion The study confirms the importance of following nursing catheterization procedures to prevent urinary tract infections. Keywords Catheterization procedure nurses.
