Early detection and treatment interventions are essential. We determine the effectiveness of our early swallowing rehabilitation protocol in acute stroke patients with dysphagia. Methods We prospectively collected data of 220 acute stroke patients who admitted in the Department of Neurology at Thong Nhat Hospital from March 2021 to December 2021. They were participating a protocol consisted of bedside swallowing disorder screening combined with in-depth assessment by a neurologist and early treatment interventions. Nasogastric tube removal were used to determine an effectiveness of the swallowing therapy. Results The mean age of the patient was 66 4 14 2 years 128 men and 92 female. Among 68 patients with dysphagia 66 patients received early swallowing therapy interventions. patients with tube dependent change to total oral intake. The number of therapy was sessions. Conclusion The combination of compensatory techniques swallowing rehabilitation interventions and neuromuscular electrical stimulation is an effective treatment in acute stroke with dysphagia.
