The study was conducted on the skin and mucous membranes of people who came for examination and treatment at Quy Hoa National Leprosy Dermatology Hospital to determine risk factors related to Candida spp. infections. Subjects and methods The study was designed using descriptive analytical research method Results The overral prevalence of Candida spp. on the skin and mucous membranes was 4 085 14 298 . Factors related to Candida spp infection included unsufficient knowledge about the harmful effects of Candida spp. infections OR 95 CI p lt no knowledge about the harmful effects of Candida spp infections OR 95 CI - p lt no knowledge about the transmission route OR 95 CI no knowledge about the source of disease transmission OR 95 CI sharing clothes with infected people OR 95 CI and humid working environment OR 95 CI p lt . Conclusions The knowledge attitudes and practices of the people towards Candida spp prevention were still low. It is necessary to strengthen knowledge and practices of people towards Candida spp. prevention such as not sharing clothes avoiding working in humid environments.
