Therefore Tijuana offers a unique opportunity to study the risk factors for HIV acquisition and migration patterns at the Mexico-US border. Beginning in 1997 the University of California San Diego Mother Child and Adolescent HIV Program established a collaboration with pediatricians and obstetricians who provide HIV care
