U sọ hầu (craniopharyngioma) là một loại u lành tính của tế bào biểu mô, xếp loại độ I, phát triển chậm, nằm phần lớn ở vùng hố yên và trên yên, quanh tuyến yên và cuống tuyến yên, gần với các cấu trúc thần kinh và mạch máu quan trọng. Method A descriptive retrospective study was conducted on 33 patients diagnosed with craniopharyngeal tumors and treated surgically at the Vietnam National Children s Hospital from January 2018 to December 2021. Results The mean age of the patients was 6.5 2.4 years old 2-11 . Male female ratio 1.4. Preoperative symptoms headache 81.8 hypopituitarism 57.5 vision loss 48.5 diabetes insipidus 36.4 . Tumor size over 4cm on magnetic resonance accounted for 75.8 . The extent of tumor removal 27.3 took all tumors and 72.3 took nearly all tumors. Endocrine disorders were common short-term complications most commonly diabetes insipidus 100 hypopituitarism 84.8 and hypernatremia 33.3 . Pathology 100 enamel tumors. Surgical results 6.5 still had headaches 12.9 had vision loss 71.0 had hypopituitarism and 61.3 had diabetes insipidus. 72.7 of tumors develop back. Postoperative evaluation 6.1 died 93.9 lived with Karnofsky type I. Conclusion The results of craniopharyngioma surgery in children at the Vietnam National Children s Hospital accomplished moderately good outcomes.
