Effect of deformation and dual-phase treatment on mechanical properties of a low carbon steel

This paper studies on improving strength of low-carbon steel via rolling deformation and dual-phase treatment. The results show that the dual phase treated steel has a combination of superior strength and good ductility. The tensile ultimate strength of dual phase treated steel reaches 740 MPa with fracture elongation of over 15%, while that of the cold rolled steel only reaches 700 MPa with fracture elongation under 3%. |
