The Education Division of ICAR has been guiding and coordinating agricultural education in the country. With the establishment and growth of State Agricultural Universities, revision of courses and curricula in agricultural and allied sciences has been taken up periodically through Deans' committees. The third Deans' Committee in the series on agricultural education (1995) recommended constitution of separate committee by the ICAR for revision of post graduate curricula in view of emerging areas, advancement of science and human resource needs in 21st century.
