It is essential to monitor intracranial pressure, CPP, and brain oxygenation during ventilatory support in the patients with traumatic brain injury. Brain oxygenation monitoring technics are jugular venous saturation monitoring, near-infrared spectroscopy and microdialysis catheters. Availability and cost of these devices are limiting factors to their use. The studies on brain trauma patients shows that there is no proven mortality benefit in continuous ICP monitoring. | LOW BACK PAIN PATHOGENESIS AND TREATMENT Edited by Yoshihito Sakai INTECHWEB.ORG Low Back Pain Pathogenesis and Treatment Edited by Yoshihito Sakai Published by InTech Janeza Trdine 9 51000 Rijeka Croatia Copyright 2012 InTech All chapters are Open Access distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license which allows users to download copy and build upon published articles even for commercial purposes as long as the author and publisher are properly credited which ensures maximum dissemination and a wider impact of our publications.
