A bracket is attached to each shaft. The laser is attached to one of the brackets and the detector target to the other bracket. The operator then positions the laser and detector assemblies to center the beam in the detector target area. The Model S-640 system is shown in Figure 15.12. The detector target output is connected to a computer interface module Model R-358 via a cable which is then connected to a laptop computer via the serial communications port. An alignment software program supplied with the system is loaded into your laptop computer and the software prompts the user through the alignment process. The Model S-650 system is shown in Figure 15.13. The detector target output is transmitted via infrared data transmission to a receiver-computer interface module Model A-908 which is connected to a laptop computer via the serial communications port. An alignment software program and laptop computer are supplied with the system.
