In this paper, we study the generation of plasmon-polaritons in the epsilon-near-zero nanorod polaritonic metamaterial by using nonlocal effective medium approximation (EMT). We demonstrate theoretically that, in the optical ENZ regime, the spatial dispersion qualitatively changes the optical properties of polaritonic metamaterials and leads to the existence of additional transverse-magnetic-polarized waves that are not described by using the MG EMT. |
