Human urine from domestic wastewater has been considered as an ideal nutrient source for microalgae cultivation due to the high concentration of nitrogen and phosphorus. Moreover, pollution caused by nutrient (N, P) is difficult to treat and costly. In this study, membrane fouling and nutrient removal was evaluated in a membrane photobioreactor (MPBR) system using urine as substrate and microalgae-bacteria as co-cultures under two light - dark cycles. |
