The first experiment was done to compare the effects of using ozone and chlorine on water quality and survival rate of postlarvae with 3 treatments i Water was treated by chlorine Control treatment ii Water was treated by ozone at L iii Water was treated by ozone mg L and ozone was dissolved daily in rearing tank at the concentration of mg L. The results showed that NOf was lowest 0 011mg L in the treatment 3 while survivalPL1 could reach up to . Our findings suggested that ozone can replace chlorine to treat water in shrimp hatcheries. Length and wet weight of PL15 10 4mm and 0 8g respectively were significantly higher compared to those from the control treatment. However survival rate of PL15 in treatment 3 and 4 were not significant compared to control treatment P . After taking stress test with 200mg L formalin survival rate of Pl15 in treatment 3 and 4 were significantly higher than those from other treatments p 0 05 .
