| NUÔI GHÉP VỌP SÔNG GELOINA COAXANS TRONG AO TÔM SÚ INTEGRATION Of mud clam GELOINA COAXANS IN A BLACK TIGER ShRiMP pond Nguyễn Văn Trai Khoa Thủy Sản Trường ĐH Nông Lâm Tp. This study used mud clam Geloina coaxans to integrate into a shrimp pond with two phases 1 mud clam was cultured in tanks supplied with wastewater originated from a black tiger shrimp pond aiming to assess the efficiency of removing suspended substances from the water and 2 integrate mud clam into a black tiger shrimp pond to test their adaptation in the shrimp pond condition. In phase 1 mud clams with an average weight of g were cultured in 500 liter tanks and supplied with water from an intensive shrimp pond and permanent aeration. The experiment designed with 5 treatments of different clam stocking densities and 3 replicates. Water quality parameters such as chemical oxygen demand COD total suspended solid TSS total nitrogen TN and total phosphorus TP were measured at 0 3 6 9 and 12 hours after water supply in order to test the filter efficiency at different stocking densities and the change of water quality by time. After that mud clams were conditioned in netbags and set on the pond bottom. Survival rate and growth of mud clam were observed in 8 weeks and some water quality parameters of the pond water including salinity pH transparency and temperature were measured twice a month to assess their living condition. In phase 1 the result from water quality analyses indicated that the highest filter efficiency was obtained at the stocking rate of 30 ind tank 60 ind m3 . After 12 hours at this treatment COD TSS TN and TP have been reduced by and 89 respectively and it meets the Vietnamese quality standard for coastal water. In phase 2 100 mud clam survived after 8 weeks in .
