It is expected that by the year 2015, the country will produce about 600 - 800 million doses of trivalent vaccine annually. In Asia as a whole, well organized production facilities are available and several countries in the region source the vaccine from India. Keeping abreast with the contemporary developments research efforts are going on in addressing the major challenge of increasing the duration of immunity and development of new generation vaccines.
