Boran, a popular cattle breed, is predominantly utilized and widely distributed across various countries of Africa (DAGRIS 2006). The Ethiopian Boran belongs to the group of Zebu cattle (Bos indicus), with their characteristic hump and pendulous dewlap. Available archaeological records indicate that zebu cattle are the most recent types of cattle to be introduced into Africa. Recent molecular genetic as well as archaeological evidences (Marshall 2000; Hanotte et al. 2002) also showed that the introduction of Zebu cattle into Africa centred in East Africa rather than through the land connection between Egypt and the Near East. Zebu cattle are known. | Soy Protein Applications in Nutrition Food Technology Dr. Karl Weingartner and Bridget Owen National Soybean Research Laboratory University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign IL L IN o I s UNMEASHY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA CHAMPAIGN J National Soybean Research Laboratory NSRL Vision University of Illinois IL LIN o I s JhWSFV OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA CHAMPAIGN Research Facility for the Industry Public and Private Partnerships - Managed Research Areas MRAs - Education and Training International Outreach - Fulfilling the service mission of the University - Research-based outreach when international is the unit of analysis - Malnutrition economic development and sustainable value chains Training and Education Soy Processing Soy Dairy Entrepreneurship Nutrition Education Soy in Meat Applications Soy in Baking Applications Biodiesel Soy in Local Cuisine ILLINOIS JkWSFV OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA .
