This
survey‐based
study
serves
a
two‐fold
function.
Primarily,
this
study
will
be
used
to
gain
insight
into
the
extent
of
the
health
and
economic
impacts
associated
with
the
Deepwater
Horizon
Oil
Disaster.
The
study
also
serves
as
a
pilot
for
survey
methods
associated
with
health
impact
surveillance
within
communities
affected
by
environmental
toxics,
especially
those
associated
with
the
Deepwater
Horizon
Oil
Disaster.
This
study
is
a
first‐pass
survey
of
seven
selected
communities.
This
survey
evaluates
each
community
as
a
whole
rather
than
a
number
of
select
individuals.
This
initial
report
will
be
followed
with
an
analysis
of
social
and
environmental
justice
impacts
of
the
Deepwater
Horizon
Oil
Disaster,
to
be
released
in
the
spring
of
2011.
