This plan was required by the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 7 and developed in accordance with guidance prepared by the Department of Homeland Security ĐHS . The . Department of the Treasury as the Sector Specific Agency for the Banking and Finance Sector developed this plan through close collaboration with the Federal and State financial regulators that comprise the FBUC and with the private sector members of the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council FSSCC . Collectively we received input from over 100 organizations representing all aspects of the sector. The Banking and Finance SSP provides a strategy for working collaboratively with our public and private sector partners to identify the critical infrastructure and to prioritize and coordinate its protection. The plan summarizes sector activities already underway as well as additional efforts the sector will undertake to reduce vulnerabilities and share information. It is the intention of the FBUC that this SSP be included in the National Infrastructure Protection Plan which provides the unifying structure for the integration of protection efforts across all 17 identified critical infrastructures and the Nation s key resources. The members of the FBIIC support the concepts and processes in this SSP and will continue to work with the Department of the Treasury and the FSSCC to implenieiit the .
