Transcervical endoscopy is a fairly established technique in cattle used to evaluate uterine involution and its association with uterine diseases Mordak et al. 2007 Madoz et al. 2010 . In addition confocal laser endomicroscopy technology is already available Buchner et al. 2010 . Genes with possible roles in uterine biology in humans and cattle identified during comparison of data from microarray analysis from the two species Bauersachs et al. 2008 could be silenced or overexpressed in order to develop therapies for human contraception and for the formulation of enhanced embryo culture medium. The development of models of uterine cancer in superovulated cows Velazquez et al. 2009b will be particularly relevant to test the therapeutic usefulness of tumor suppressor induction . TP53 or silencing of growth factor receptors . .
