In the United Republic of Tanzania, some 500 older women are murdered each year following accusations against them of witchcraft. The problem is particularly serious in Sukumaland in the north of the country. Large numbers of older women are driven from their homes and communities in fear of being accused of witchcraft, and end up living destitute in urban areas. Belief in witchcraft has existed in Sukumaland for centuries, though the violence surrounding it has increased sharply in recent years. Materials and Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 209 elderly aged 60 and over who lived in Einme Township Irrawaddy Division Myanmar. Data were collected by using structured interview questionnaire from February 1 to 21 2010. Statistics used for data analysis were frequency percentage mean standard deviation Pearson product moment correlation coefficient and Multiple regression analysis. Results The majority of the elderly people had a moderate level of quality of life followed by high level and low level . The factors that were statistically significantly related to the quality of life of elderly were education level current illness selfesteem family income family relationship and social support. In addition self-esteem and family relationship could significantly predict the quality of life of elderly by . Self-esteem had the highest predictive power of quality of life.
