Dedication The first edition of the vascular access book published in 1996 was dedicated to the patients at Parkland Memorial Hospital Dallas Texas who between 1982 and 1995 taught me more about medicine than all medical textbooks combined. This edition is dedicated to Dorothy Griffin RN vascular access coordinator at Parkland between 1991-1998 retiring at the age of seventy. Prior to becoming the coordinator Mrs. Griffin was the head nurse at Parkland outpatient dialysis unit which made her uniquely fit to be the vascular access .
