Although systemic tacrolimus used during pregnancy may result in fetal malformations and preterm deliveries the bioavailability of topical tacrolimus is less than 5 of the orally administered form making the potential for tumors with standard topical therapy extremely low indeed 53-55 . Both topical and systemic tacrolimus preparations are pregnancy category C 56 .
