The experimental design employed for this purpose was based on 4 general assumptions. The results reported in the present study allow US to verify 3 of these assumptions i mating is at random irrespective of the flies karyotype ii gametic selection may be considered absent and iii there is no differential attraction of flies to the collecting baits.
