If you have early Stage I ovarian cancer, the extent of surgery may depend on whether you want to get pregnant and have children. Some women with very early ovarian cancer may decide with their doctor to have only one ovary, one fallopian tube, and the omentum removed. You may be uncomfortable for the first few days after surgery. Medicine can help control your pain. Before surgery, you should discuss the plan for pain relief with your doctor or nurse. After surgery, your doctor can adjust the plan if you need more pain relief. The time it takes to heal after surgery is different for each woman. You will spend several days. | Cancer Facts Figures 2009 WA 32 290 MT 5 340 OR 19 210 ND 3 200 MN 23 670 NH VT 7 630 3 550 ME 9 000 ID 6 800 WY 2 500 SD 4 120 WI 27 560 MI 53 550 NY 101 550 MA 36 080 IA NV 12 020 u NE 8 810 16 740 IL IN CA 8 880 CO 60 960 31 320 152 170 20 340 OH 62 420 PA 74 170 RI 6 250 CT 20 650 NJ 47 920 AZ 27 600 NM 8 830 KS 13 080 OK 18 110 MO 30 090 KY 24 060 AWV 10 230 VA 34 150 DE 4 690 MD 26 650 DC 2 600 AR 14 800 TN 32 570 NC 42 270 MS 14 150 AL 24 090 SC 22 100 GA 39 080 TX 98 200 AK 2 530 LA 22 170 fl 102 210 HI 6 400 US 1 479 350 PR N A Estimated number of new cancer cases for 2009 excluding basal and squamous cell skin cancers and in situ carcinomas except urinary bladder.
