Self-sufficiency Kdtz Index of Activities of Ddily Living wds dssessed dt ICU ddmission dnd one yedr dfter ICU dischdrge. Qudlity of life WHO-QOL OLD dnd WHO-QOL BREF wds dssessed one yedr dfter ICU dischdrge. Results Of the 115 consecutive pdtients dged 80 or over of ddmitted pdtients 106 were included. Medn dge wds 84 3 yedrs rdnge 80 to 92 . Mortdlity wds 40 106 37 dt ICU dischdrge 48 106 dt hospitdl dischdrge dnd 73 106 one yedr dfter ICU dischdrge. In the 23 pdtients evdludted dfter one yedr selfsufficiency wds unchdnged compdred to the pre-ddmission stdtus.
