STRATEGY a You should read the text once quickly to get the general picture. read it again very carefully. It s easy to miss an unnecessary word when you re thinking mainly about the meaning. TYPICAL ERRORS 1 b Here are some words to look out for while doing this type of task. This is the first mention of researchers and we don t know who they are yet so we use the general plural without the. Later in the text when they are mentioned again the definite article can be used.
