In 2005 the Technical Advisory Body for Fisheries Management TAB recognising the need for this type of information commissioned a study of gender and fisheries in the Lower Mekong Basin. Representatives from the Network for the Promotion of Gender in Fisheries Development in the Lower Mekong Basin NGF 3 undertook the study.
