Research subjects and methods Cross-sectional descriptive study performed on 161 healthcare workers who are doctors and nurses in 8 departments. Research results The percentage of healthcare workers with the knowledge that meets the requirements for the prevention of surgical site infection is . The proportion of the surgery block that meets knowledge requirements is and that of internal medicine is . The rate of doctors who meet the knowledge requirements for the prevention of surgical site infection is and the rate for nurses is 78 . The working block is an independent factor affecting surgical site infection prevention knowledge. The group of healthcare workers working in the surgery block has higher knowledge than those working in the internal medicine block.
