tailieunhanh - Phylogenetic and antimicrobial characteristics of a Novel Streptomyces sp. Ru87 isolated from Egyptian soil

A novel Streptomyces sp. Ru87 was isolated from Egyptian soil and showed significant inhibition activities against a number of food and blood borne pathogens. Morphological and chemotaxonomic characteristics showed that Ru87 belongs to genus Streptomyces. 16 S rRNA gene sequence (KY775360), showed 98% identity with Streptomyces cacaoi strain NBRC 12748. However, phylogenetic analysis indicated that it is distinct from the known species. A cultured extract of this strain inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and some other foodborne and blood borne pathogens. |
