This study was undertaken to evaluate the utility of serum C-reactive protein in the diagnosis of bacterial sinusitis and its role in reduction of antibiotic use in case of viral sinusitis. A total of 100 blood samples were collected from patients with clinical diagnosis of acute rhino sinusitis in the age group 15-65 years attending Outpatient Department of . Semi quantitative determination of serum C –reactive protein was done by latex agglutination method (Span diagnostics) as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
