Beside the quantitative loss, the insect infestation in wheat grains reduce germination and produce unpleasant odour, dirty appearance and abhorrent taste due to contamination with insect fragments and excrement. The post- harvest losses of food grains in India were 7-10 per cent of the total production from farm to market level and 4-5 per cent at market and distribution levels. | Stored grain pests incidence in wheat with particular reference to khapra beetle Trogoderma granarium everts in Southern Haryana India
