LRTIs are one of the most common infectious diseases of humans. They are associated with morbidity and mortality worldwide. This study aims to find out the bacterial profile of lower respiratory tract infections in adults and the antibiotic susceptibility pattern of the isolated pathogen including detection of MRSA, ESBLs and MBLs. This study was conducted for a period of 6 months from March to August 2015 at a tertiary care hospital, Chennai. A total of 830 samples were collected during the study.
