General and specific combining abilities (GCA and SCA) were estimated using six lines of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) and three testers and their F1 hybrids, bred in line x tester fashion. The present study revealed that none of the parent was best combiner for all the traits indicating differences in genetic variability for different characters among the parents. Line x tester effect was found significant for all the characters under the study except for plant height. | Combining ability studies for growth and quality characters in tomato Solanum lycopersicum L.
