The present work was conducted to isolate and identify different parasites from Indian Major Carps. During the study period the severity of infection and Parasitic Frequency Index (PFI, %) were also estimated in terms of month and seasons of fishes. For the investigative purpose different districts of West Bengal were selected considering the potential of fishery resources. For investigative purpose samples were collected from different districts namely Garia, Bamanghata, of South 24 Parganas District, Ulluberia of Howrah District, Memari of Burdwan district for considering the potential of fishery resources. Approximately 360 fishes were observed during the entire period of 12 months from April 2014 to March 2015. The parasite infested fishes were found to suffer mainly from respiratory manifestations, blackness of the skin and mortalities. | Prevalence of parasitic diseases of Indian major carps in Selected districts of West Bengal India
