Listeria monocytogenes is an emerging foodborne pathogen of public health concern. Animals may act an asymptomatic carrier and can contaminate foods of animal origin such as meats and dairy products. The objective of the study was to determine the prevalence, pathogenicity and antimicrobial profile of L. monocytogenes in goats and pigs intended for human consumption.
