tailieunhanh - Effect of site specific nutrient management, crop establishment methods and date of sowing on growth, yield and economics of BT cotton

A field experiment was conducted at Agronomy Farm, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur in 2015-16 on effect of site specific nutrient management, crop establishment methods and date of sowing on growth, yield and economics of Bt cotton. The experiment was laid out in Split Plot Design (SPD) with three replications. Two methods of crop establishment as main factor viz. M1: Dibbling method and M2: Transplanting method and five dates of sowing as sub factor viz. D1: 1st fortnight of June, D2: 2nd fortnight of June, D3: 1st fortnight of July, D4: 2nd fortnight of July and D1: 1st fortnight of August. Fertilizer doses were applied according SSNM recommendation. Significantly higher seed cotton yield (4426 kg ha-1 ), seed cotton yield per plant ( g), total dry matter production (525 g per plant) recorded in treatment transplanted on 1st fortnight of June over dibbling method and later dates of sowing. However, there was no significant difference observed with respect to net returns and B: C ratio. Higher net returns (Rs. 141616 ha-1 ) and B: C () ratio recorded in treatment transplanted on 1st fortnight of June over dibbling method and later dates of sowing. Transplanting Bt cotton on 1 st fortnight of June recorded higher seed cotton yield, total dry matter, net returns and B: C ratio. | Effect of site specific nutrient management, crop establishment methods and date of sowing on growth, yield and economics of BT cotton
