tailieunhanh - Assessment of genetic variability in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)

The present investigation has been carried out to study the variability in Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.). The magnitude of genotypic variance was highest for number of pods per plant followed by days to maturity, Harvest index and days to 50% flowering. The pods per plant recorded highest phenotypic variance followed by days to maturity and harvest index. Genotypic coefficient of variation (GCV) was highest for harvest index followed by number of pods per plant, seed yield per plant and number of secondary branches per plant. Phenotypic coefficient of variation (PCV) was highest for harvest index followed by number of pods per plant, seed yield per plant and number of secondary branches per plant. Maximum heritability was observed for 100 seed weight () and that of the estimates of genetic advance was ranged from to at 5% level of significance and at 1% level of significance with the highest estimate in case of number of pods per plant () and (). | Assessment of genetic variability in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)
