tailieunhanh - Study on the performance of vegetative barriers and improved forage species on productivity of degraded grasslands

A field experiment was conducted during Kharif 2013 and Kharif 2014 on sandy loam soil to study the effect of vegetative barriers and improved forage species on growth and productivity of degraded grasslands under mid hill sub temperate conditions of Himachal Pradesh. Napier bajra hybrid (Pennisetum purpureum L. x P. Americanum L.) as vegetative barrier produced significantly taller plants as compared to setaria grass planted as vegetative barrier. Shoot population was significantly higher in vegetative barrier of setaria grass, whereas leaf stem ratio was significantly higher in vegetative barrier of napier bajra hybrid. | Study on the performance of vegetative barriers and improved forage species on productivity of degraded grasslands
