tailieunhanh - Production of red pigment from fungal isolate DMMS-1
Pigments play a very significant role in all aspects of life. They find application in a variety of industries like food industries, textile industries, pharmaceutical industries etc. One of the major reasons behind the increasing market interest for microbial pigments is their eco-friendly nature and their compatibility with the living. Besides this, they also reported to impart many additional benefits due to their anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant, antimalarial and anti-biotic properties etc. In the present investigation, a fungal isolate DMMS-1, isolated from the soil sample, was seen to produce red colored pigment. The conditions for higher pigment production were optimized. It was observed that the temperature of 37°C, inoculum size of 3 plugs (5 mm diameter), malt extract as carbon source, pH of and the shaking incubation (110 rpm) resulted in enhancement of pigment production. | 2019 8 4 2839-2846 EXCELLENT PUBLISHERS International Journal of Current Microbiology and Applied Sciences ISSN 2319-7706 Volume 8 Number 04 2019 Journal homepage http Original Research Article https Production of Red Pigment from Fungal Isolate DMMS-1 Manan Sankhyayan1 Abhishek Walia1 2 and Chayanika Putatunda1 1 Department of Microbiology DAV University Village Sarmastpur Jalandhar Pathankot National Highway NH 44 Jalandhar Punjab 144012 India 2Department of Microbiology CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University Palampur Himachal Pradesh 176062 India Corresponding author ABSTRACT Keywords Microbial pigments Fungal pigment Soil fungi Red Article Info Accepted 20 March 2019 Available Online 10 April 2019 Pigments play a very significant role in all aspects of life.
