tailieunhanh - First report of diplodia pinea [(Desmaz.) J. Kick x fil] on blue pine (Pinus wallichiana Jackson) from Asia

Blue pine (Pinus wallichiana Jackson) which grows abundantly in Western Himalayas is prone to a number of diseases which pose serious threat to its regeneration. The needle blight caused by Diplodia pinea ((Desmaz.) J. Kick x fil) on blue pine is reported in this paper for the first time from Asia. The needle blight symptoms on blue pine seedlings and plantations were recorded on current year needles. The pathogen D. pinea was successfully isolated from the infected needles of blue pine bearing fructification. The culture raised on PDA required alternate light/dark periods of 12 hrs to form pycnidial initials. The pathogenicity of fungus was successfully established on two year old pine saplings in 5 days and on 5-10 year old trees in 14 days. The detailed morphological characters of the isolated pathogen are reported. | Nội dung Text First report of diplodia pinea Desmaz. J. Kick x fil on blue pine Pinus wallichiana Jackson from Asia
