tailieunhanh - High frequency of epidermal growth factor receptor mutations in non - small cell lung cancers in Vietnam

Mutations in the tyrosine kinase (TK) domain of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene impact a patient’s response to targeted therapy in non - small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Detection of these mutations plays an important role in therapeutic decision - making in NSCLC. Methods: 181 paraffin - embedded tumor tissues from grade IIIB/IV NSCLC patients were screened for mutations in exons 18 to 21 of the EGFR gene, using both the direct sequencing and the Scorpion ARMS method. Mutations in the kinase domain (exon 18 to exon 21) of the EGFR gene were identified in 106 of the 181 NSCLC specimens (). | High frequency of epidermal growth factor receptor mutations in non - small cell lung cancers in Vietnam
