Đề tài được thực hiện với mục tiêu chung là phát triển được một số cây ăn quả ôn đới (hồng, lê, đào) phục vụ cho việc chuyển đổi cơ cấu cây trồng và tăng thu nhập cho người dân vùng miền núi phía Bắc, nhóm tác giả Viện KHKT Nông Lâm nghiệp miền núi phía Bắc đã thực hiện nghiên cứu trên. Mục tiêu cụ thể như sau: Xác định được các vùng có khả năng trồng cây ăn quả ôn đới vùng miền núi phía Bắc. Tuyển chọn được mỗi loại cây (hồng, lê, đào) 1-2 giống đạt năng suất, chất lượng hơn hẳn so với giống cũ. Weather and climate in northern region of our country is quite diverse. Some high regions in some mountainous provinces have relatively cold winters, cool summers. These are well suited to the development of temperate fruit trees in many categories that require different degree of cold of CU (Chiling Units). The temperate fruit trees previously required very high cold degree, but now with the advancement of seed, cultivation techniques, they can be exploited and applied to high-mountain region with temperate climate in tropical countries in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. Research into seed, the impact of technical measures to expand the production area of temperate fruit trees in the northern mountainous provinces of our country is essential. Stemming from the urgent needs, on 25/06/2012 Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has approved the theme: "Study to select and develop some temperate fruit trees (pear, peach) in the North". Research is conducted from 06/2012 to 12/2016 with aim to determine varieties, growing region and production development for plant restructuring, increasing income for farmers in mountainous north. The results of research are anticipated to define 1-2 promising seeds for each plant, suitable ecological areas; setting up production process techniques for each temperate fruit trees; building experimental
