Nguyễn Thế Nhuận Viện KHKT Nông nghiệp miền Nam SUMMARY The improvement of the propagation and cultivation techniques for Chrysanthemum cultivars ‘’ and Gerbera cultivars ‘’ and ‘’ and ‘’ as cut flowers Chrysanthemum cultivars ‘’ and ‘’ and Gerbera cultivars ‘’ and ‘’ were crossed and selected by the Potato, Vegetable & Flower Research Center belonging to the Institute of Agricultural Science for Southern of Vietnam in 2005 and then tested during the years of 2006 and 2007. In 2008, those cultivars were officially admitted as new flower cultivars and released to farmers for trial production by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) with 324/QD-TT-CLT Decision issued on 16/12/2008. For that reason, MARD continued to fund to conduct the project ‘Improvement of the propagation techniques for Chrysanthemum cultivars ‘’ and ‘’ and Gerbera cultivars ‘’ and ‘’ as cut flowers’. The project lasted from 10/2010 to 10/2012, and gained the following results: For the in vitro production of Chrysanthemum cultivars ‘’ and ‘’, media of MS + mg /l BAP + mg/L IAA was the best for regeneration ability. The media of MS + mg/L BAP + coal was very good for elongation of plantlets and creation of clump. The media of 1/2MS + mg/L IBA was good for root development. For ex vitro, plantlets grew well with the use of coconut fiber (50%) + Humus coal (50%) in combination with spraying ‘Purple’ fertilizer, with the plantlet survival rate of over 90%. Stock gardens of Chrysanthemum cultivars ‘’ and ‘’ can be harvested during 6 months with the applying of plants density of 44 plantlets/m2 and fertilizer of 300kgN, 120kgP2O5 and 200kg K2O/ha and some floral fertilizers; For commercial production, .
