The subalpine and alpine flora of Alt›ndere Valley (Maçka, Trabzon) was investigated during 2000-2002. The study area is situated in the Colchis sector of the Euro-Siberian floristic area of the Holarctic region with regard to plant geography. The study area is situated in the Colchis sector of the Euro-Siberian floristic area of the Holarctic region with regard to plant geography. In this area, 384 plant taxa belonging to 61 families and 190 genera were determined. The largest family is Asteraceae (39; 10%), and the second largest is Rosaceae (35; 9%). The rates of the taxa belonging to certain phytogeographical regions are as follows: Euro-Siberian, Irano-Turanian and Mediterranean. Moreover, phytogeographically unknown taxa are . Thirty-two endemic () and 9 rare () taxa were determined in the study area. Endemic and rare plants were classified according to IUCN threat categories. Çal›flma alan›, bitki co¤rafyas› yönünden; Holarktik Bölgenin Avrupa-Sibirya Flora alan›n›n Kolflik (Colchis) kesiminde kalmaktad›r. Çal›flma alan›nda, 61 familya ve 190 cinse ait toplam 384 bitki taksonu saptanm›flt›r. Çal›flma alan›nda içerdi¤i tür say›s›na göre en büyük familya Asteraceae (39; %10), ikincisi ise Rosaceae’dir (35; %9). Türlerin fitoco¤rafik bölgelere göre da¤›l›m› flöyledir: %50,27’si Avrupa-Sibirya elementi, %5,99’u ‹ran-Turan elementi ve %1,04’ü Akdeniz elementidir. Ayr›ca taksonlar›n %42,70’inin fitoco¤rafik bölgesi bilinmemektedir. Çal›flma alan›nda 32 adet endemik (%8,3) ve 9 adet nadir (%2,3) bitki taksonu saptanm›flt›r. .
