(14 tür, 11 alttür ve 1 varyete) taksonunun somatik kromozom sayısı Stachys byzantina ve S. thirkei hariç ilk kez sayıldı. Bu çalışmada bütün Stachys taksonlarının diploid kromozom sayısı 2n = 30 olarak belirlendi. Çalışma Türkiye’deki Stachys cinsinin taksonomik revizyonuna katkı sağlamıştır.
