tailieunhanh - Synthesis and characterization of iron dextrin copmlex
In this research, iron-dextrin complex has been successfully synthesized from ferric chloride and dextrin in aqueous solution. The complex powder was thoroughly characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and thermal analysis (DTA-TGA). The results indicated that the complex contains akaganeite (β-FeOOH) core bounded by dextrin molecules. The akaganeite core ranges from 20 to 30 nm and the complex grain size varies from 40 to 60 nm. EDX analysis showed that the percentage of iron in the product nearly 25% by mass. | Nguyễn Đình Vinh và Đtg Tạp chí KHOA HỌC & CÔNG NGHỆ 118(04): 185 - 189 SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF IRON-DEXTRIN COPMLEX Nguyen Dinh Vinh*, Duong Nghia Bang, Truong Thi Thao, Tran Hoai Thu College of Sciences – TNU SUMMARY In this research, iron-dextrin complex has been successfully synthesized from ferric chloride and dextrin in aqueous solution. INTRODUCTION* Iron deficiency is a common problem occurring in normal people, especially in women. Oral Iron supplement is usually adequate for almost patients but some people are intolerance to oral iron, abnormal absorption due to surgery or gastrointestinal disease, significant bleeding, and noncompliance may make oral iron treatment in some patients inadequate. These patients will benefit from parenteral iron [1,2]. Both oral iron (., ferrous fumarate, ferrous gluconate ) and parenteral iron (., iron dextran, iron sucrose, iron sorbital) have been used to treat iron deficiency for nearly many years in both USA and Europe [1-7]. Because of its potential application, ironpolysaccharide complex has attracted the attentions of scientists. There are commercial products containing the complex. Many researches involving to the preparation of this complex from various sources of polysaccharide, such as starch, polymaltose, maltodextrin have been published [5-10] but the preparation and characterization of irondextrin .
