Adobe Flash CS3: The Professional Portfolio- P54:Now you can easily create web-ready images and animations within the familiar Adobe environment. With the recent acquisition of Macromedia, Adobe has added Flash to its suite of creative products, thus solidifying its position as the world's leading developer of graphic and visual communications tools. The Against The Clock Portfolio Series Flash title ensures that you'll learn everything you need to complete any job that requires Flash skills | Talking Kid Site Intro You have been hired to create an animated introduction to an online children s library. The Flash-based animation must feature a character that welcomes the children to the Web site and provides easy-to-follow instructions for using the library. Each link should also offer audio instructions that explain the link s purpose. This project incorporates the following skills Importing sound files into Flash Adding event and streaming sounds to the Flash timeline Editing a sound envelope to control volume and duration Applying built-in sound effects Synchronizing sound to animation Creating and testing a preloader script Defining sound compression settings ifflTI H H IS S31 Client Comments To make our site more inviting for children we want to add an introductory screen with a character welcoming visitors. From there three buttons will provide access to the three site branches where our products are roughly broken down by age group. Because our site targets children many of them still at the preschool level who can t read yet we don t want any text on the introduction page. Everything needs to be visual or audible or both . We want the welcome message to be spoken by the character on the introduction screen. We also want sounds that play when someone rolls a mouse over the navigation buttons. Finally add some music in the background that will play as long as the movie is open VI c 0 E E o o 3 o Im c You have three primary tasks for this Project add the background sound add the event sounds to the buttons and synch the character s mouth to the sound in the introduction message. The first two steps are fairly straightforward. The lip synching will require some careful attention to detail but overall isn t a difficult job. When you ve got all of the pieces in place I also want you to program Play and Pause buttons that allow users to control the lip-synched animation. Because sound files can be large which means they can take a long time to download
