tailieunhanh - The protective effect of some extracts and isolated compounds from euphorbia hirta on pancreatic β-cells Min6
The results showed that methanol extract and an isolated compound, quercitrin gave strong cell-protective effect with the cell viability of 69 % and 78 % at the dose of 100 µg/mL and 10 µg/mL, respectively. This proves that E. hirta L. might have antidiabetic effect and worth conducting further pharmacological investigations related to type 2 diabetes mellitus. | Vietnam Journal of Science and Technology 56 (4A) (2018) 163-170 THE PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF SOME EXTRACTS AND ISOLATED COMPOUNDS FROM EUPHORBIA HIRTA ON PANCREATIC β-CELLS MIN6 Le Thi Bach1, 2, Le Tien Dung3, *, Nguyen Trong Tuan1, Nguyen Quoc Chau Thanh1, Joëlle Quetin-Leclercq4, Bui Thi Buu Hue1, * 1 Department of Chemistry, College of Natural Sciences,Can Tho University, Campus II, 3/2 Street, XuanKhanh Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City, Viet Nam 2 Graduate University of Science and Technology Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Cau Giay District, Ha Noi, Viet Nam 3 Institute of Applied Materials Science, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, No. 01A, TL29 Street, ThanhLoc Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam 4 Laboratoire de Pharmacognosie, LDRI, Université catholique de Louvain, Place de l'Université 1, 1348 Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium * Email: btbhue@ Received: 13 July 2018; Accepted for publication: 9 October 2018 ABSTRACT Euphorbia hirta L., a species belonging to genus Euphorbia, Euphorbiaceae family, has been found a lot in the Mekong Delta. From the ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of this plant, four pure compounds were isolated and identified their chemical structures by spectroscopic techniques including quercitrin (1), luteolin (2), quercetin (3) and caffeic acid (4). The effect of crude ethanolextract and some fractioned extracts as well as four isolated compounds from E. hirta L., collected in the Mekong Delta, on endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced cell death in mouse β-cell lines was investigated.
