In a glass this translates into: 12 ounces of beer, at 5 percent alcohol content. 4 ounces of wine, at 12 percent alcohol content. 1¼ ounces of distilled spirit, at 40 percent alcohol content (80 proof). 1 ounce of distilled spirit, at 50 percent alcohol content (100 proof). © 2011 John Wiley and Sons, Inc.
