This study combined qualitative method (Participating Rural Appraisal discussion and in-depth interviews) and quantitative analysis (interview 60 households to compare their production efficiency within 03 Winter-Spring rice crops corresponding to 03 different flooding levels). The result shows that abnormal floods changes seasonal crop calendars, increases pests and production expense due to losing alluvial. Rice productivity in the low flooding Winter-Spring crop are lower than that in the high flooding and medium flooding conditions. On the other hand, abnormal high floods might generate high risk on dyke system destruction and the severe damage on the Autumn-Winter rice crop. Despite various adaptations to mitigate the negative impacts of abnormal floods, most of them seem to be short-term cope purposes. In the long-term, local government should improve the infield irrigation systems to distribute sediment and wash off acid sulfate during flood seasons; to expend and multiply what farmers adapt well to abnormal floods within the community; to introduce and .
