tailieunhanh - Webgis technology for management and sharing spatial data of protected area, a case study in Xuan Lien nature reserve, Thanh Hoa

This article reports a research in developing a web-based geographical information system (WEBGIS) that facilitates the access and use of the protected area’s spatial data. The system provides online access, exploration, visualization, and analysis of the archived spatial data, mostly in the form map, within a WEBGIS. | Tạp chí Khoa học và Công nghệ 54 (4) (2016) 460-471 DOI: WEBGIS TECHNOLOGY FOR MANAGEMENT AND SHARING SPATIAL DATA OF PROTECTED AREA, A CASE STUDY IN XUAN LIEN NATURE RESERVE, THANH HOA Ha Quy Quynh1, 2, *, Dang Huy Phuong1, Nguyen Tien Phuong3 1 Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources, VAST, 18 Hoang Quoc Viet, Cau Giay, Hanoi 2 Technology Application and Development Department, VAST, 18 Hoang Quoc Viet, Cau Giay, Hanoi 3 Institute of Information Technology, VAST, 18 Hoang Quoc Viet, Cau Giay, 18 Hoang Quoc Viet, Cau Giay, Hanoi * Email: haquyquynh@ Received: 29 October 2015; Accepted for publication: 5 April 2016 ABSTRACT Protected area (PA) spatial data has significant scientific value for biodiversity conservation, as well as to support PA’s managers design management tools. Most protected areas have basically completed spatial data of biological resources and data are printed maps, pictured maps and GIS maps. However, there are some limitations regarding this method namely that information is stored in multiple formats, coordinates systems and scales are not unified, especially the access possibility is limited in many cases. This article reports a research in developing a web-based geographical information system (WEBGIS) that facilitates the access and use of the protected area’s spatial data. The system provides online access, exploration, visualization, and analysis of the archived spatial data, mostly in the form map, within a WEBGIS. The results indicate that WEBGIS, developed using MapServer, Remote sensing, GIS technologies, provides built up a spatial database of PA, and suggests that such a system can more advanced all protected areas’s spatial data access and analysis tools.
